Honor and Chivalry

Set in the 15th century, a young squire, Myles Falworth, seeks to become a knight and to redeem his father’s honor. Myles trains under the Earl of Mackworth to become a chivalrous knight. Once he obtains his knighthood, Myles gains honor for himself by winning jousting matches and serving in France. Upon returning to England Myles must face a family enemy, the Earl of Alban. The book provides great detail of the life, training, and equipment of knights of the era.

Howard Pyle was an American illustrator and author, celebrated for his contributions to the Golden Age of American illustration. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Pyle demonstrated an early aptitude for art, encouraged by his family and teachers. He studied under notable artists in Philadelphia and later in New York City, where he began his career as an illustrator for magazines and books.
