Explore Victor Appleton books at New West Press.

Victor Appleton is the publishing pen name associated with the Tom Swift adventures, rather than one individual author behind the entire series. This collection includes Tom Swift and His Air Scout, Tom Swift and His Airship, Tom Swift and His Submarine Boat, and Tom Swift and His Motor Boat. Invention supplies both the possibilities and the problems of these stories, connecting technical imagination with travel and danger. Readers can compare the different machines and settings while following a recurring interest in what ingenuity might accomplish when an ambitious plan meets an unexpected obstacle.

These adventure stories reward readers who enjoy following a character through unfamiliar places and difficult choices. As you read, consider how the setting shapes the action and what the hero learns through setbacks. They can be read for their suspense or discussed through questions about loyalty, courage, resourcefulness, and responsibility. Explore the editions below to choose your next classic adventure.
