About
The Personal History
The story of David Copperfield's life and his many adventures including the friends and enemies he meets along the way. The book follows David through a journey of change and growth from infancy to maturity. Described as “the triumph of the art of Dickens,” the novel is considered semi-autobiographical with various elements from Dickens's own life. Dickens described the novel as “a very complicated weaving of truth and invention.”
First published in 1850, this edition is derived from the original book with 40 black and white illustrations by H. K. Browne. As always, this edition is complete and unabridged.
