Jack and Jill
by Louisa May Alcott
About
A Village Story
Jack Minot and Janey Pecq are best friends and are always seen together; so much so that Janey receives the nickname “Jill” to mimic the old nursery rhyme. One winters day they are seriously injured in a sledding accident. They are helped along in their recovery by various activities created by their mothers. Through the ordeal they and their many friends learn valuable life lessons and end up better for it.
First published in 1880, this edition is derived from the book published in 1905 with 9 black & white illustrations by Harriet Roosevelt Richards. As always, this edition is complete and unabridged.
