A historical adventure set during the Williamite War in Ireland (1688–1691), a conflict between the Catholic King James II and the Protestant King William III. The story follows Walter Davenant, a young English Protestant whose family owns land in Ireland. Despite his heritage, Walter forms strong friendships with Irish Catholics and finds himself torn between loyalties as war breaks out.

First published in 1888, this edition is derived from the original book with 8 black & white illustrations by Gordon Browne. As always, this edition is complete and unabridged.
