Padraic Colum

was an Irish poet, playwright, and storyteller best known to many readers for his retellings of myths and folktales. A participant in the Irish Literary Revival, he brought a poet's attention to language into books for both adults and children. His writing links the traditions of spoken storytelling with the possibilities of literary narrative.
