was an American author and teacher best known for retelling history, mythology, and literature in accessible narrative form. Her full name was Hélène Adeline Guerber, and her books include The Story of the Greeks and The Story of the Romans. She sought to make unfamiliar people and events memorable through clearly organized stories.
