Along the way, he meets with many hardships and recounts many tales of cruelty and kindness. Each short chapter recounts an incident in Black Beauty's life.

First published in 1877, this edition’s illustrations are derived from the book published in 1897 with 46 black and white illustrations throughout. As always, this edition is complete and unabridged.
