The story follows a young Englishman, Roger, who is shipwrecked off the coast of the Americas and finds himself caught up in the dramatic events surrounding the fall of Tenochtitlán. As Roger becomes involved with the Spanish conquistadors, led by Hernán Cortés, he witnesses the clash between the Aztec civilization and the European conquerers. 

First published in 1890, this edition is derived from the original book 10 black & white illustrations by W. S. Stacey and 2 maps. As always, this edition is complete and unabridged.
