About
The Adventures of David Balfour
The story follows young David Balfour, a recently orphaned Scottish boy who journeys to claim his inheritance from his miserly uncle, Ebenezer. Instead of helping him, his uncle betrays him and sells him into captivity aboard a ship bound for the American colonies. After a shipwreck on the wild Scottish coast, David escapes and becomes entangled in the turbulent political aftermath of the Jacobite rising.
First published in 1886, this edition is derived from the book published in 1921 with 4 color illustrations and over 90 black & white illustrations and page decorations by Louis Rhead. As always, this edition is complete and unabridged.
