About the Author

James Matthew Barrie, born on May 9, 1860, in Kirriemuir, Scotland, was a Scottish novelist and playwright best known for creating Peter Pan. The ninth child of a handloom weaver, Barrie developed a love for storytelling at an early age, inspired by his mother’s tales and the tragic loss of his older brother, David, who died in an accident. This loss deeply affected his mother and influenced Barrie’s fascination with themes of eternal youth and the passage of time.
