The Children's Book of Birds
by Olive Thorne Miller
About
With Illustrations by James Audubon
A beginners guide to the study of birds. The first book starts with basic facts about birds including their life cycle and anatomy, as well as their relationships with humans. The second book covers each bird family including their habitats, behavior, and closest cousins.
First published in 1899 and 1901 as separate books and in 1915 as a complete volume, this edition is derived from the 1915 book with 17 original black & white illustrations. The original color plates have been replaced with 78 colorful illustrations by James Audubon and others. As always, this edition is completed and unabridged.
