The King Of The Golden River
by John Ruskin
About
Or, The Black Brothers
Originally written in 1841 and then published in 1851 in London, The King of the Golden River quickly became a Victorian era favorite. The author, John Ruskin, wrote the tale for twelve year old Effie Gray who he later married. The book tells the story of three brothers – two ill tempered and one kind – and their encounters with a stranger in the river valley where they live.
This edition is derived from the original 1851 book and features 22 illustrations by Richard Doyle. As always, this edition is complete and unabridged.
