The story of Robinson Crusoe and his adventures during his time at sea including shipwrecks, pirates, mutineers, and cannibals.  One of the first English novels and one of the most widely published books in history, it has gone on to spawn many imitations and a whole genre of literature.

First published in 1719, this edition is derived from the book published in 1883 with 14 color illustrations and over 60 black and white wood cut illustrations by Edward H. Wehnert. As always, this edition is complete and unabridged.

Daniel Defoe

was a prolific English writer and journalist, best known for his enduring literary legacy, which includes the groundbreaking novel "Robinson Crusoe." Born Daniel Foe in London, he later adopted the surname Defoe, possibly to distance himself from his Puritan heritage. Defoe's life was marked by both his literary achievements and his political activism.
