A narrative poem by American writer Edgar Allan Poe. The poem tells the story of a distraught lover who is paid a mysterious visit by a talking raven. Making use of folk, mythological, religious, and classical references, the poem made Poe popular in his lifetime although it did not bring him much financial success. The poem remains one of the most popular poems ever written.
First published in 1845, this edition is derived from the edition published in 1884 with 30 black & white illustrations by Gustave Dore. This edition also includes a comment on the poem by Edmund C. Stedman As always, this edition is complete and unabridged.
