Howard Pyle

was an American illustrator and author, celebrated for his contributions to the Golden Age of American illustration. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Pyle demonstrated an early aptitude for art, encouraged by his family and teachers. He studied under notable artists in Philadelphia and later in New York City, where he began his career as an illustrator for magazines and books.
