Three Bears

Often entitled The Story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears is a fable about three bears who live in a house in the woods. Their pleasant day is soon interrupted by a rude intruder. The story first appeared in print in the 1837, but the story is thought to be much older.

The text  is derived from the best known version of the tale from Treasury of Pleasure Books for Young Children by Joseph Cundall who credits the great poet Southey as his source. Illustrations and formatting follow the book illustrated by L. Leslie Brooke that was first published in 1904.
