A historical adventure set during the turmoil of the industrial revolution in England, particularly the period of social unrest surrounding the Luddite riots. The story follows Ned Sankey, a brave and principled young boy whose father dies in a tragic accident. Sent to live with relatives in a Yorkshire town, Frank becomes involved in the tense world of mill workers and machinery.

First published in 1886, this edition is derived from the oroginal book with 12 black & white illustrations by H. M. Paget. As always, this edition is complete and unabridged.
