Short Stories

A collection of short stories that blend entertainment with moral instruction, aimed primarily at a broad readership including both adults and children. Each tale explores themes such as honesty, industry, education, and the effects of social class and prejudice. Edgeworth uses vivid characters and realistic scenarios to demonstrate the value of rational thinking, ethical behavior, and self-improvement.

First published in 1804, this edition is derived from the book published in 1895 with 40 black & white illustrations by Chris Hammond. As always, this edition is complete and unabridged.
